SUMMARY:2020 Rural Connectivity Symposium
DESCRIPTION:2020 has brought with it numerous challenges which has tested among many things\, our ability to do work and life online. This has been of real impact to our rural communities. \nThese challenges have also impacted how we meet for this year’s symposium. To ensure we can gather stories and hear updates\, we’ve made the decision to use the very technology we’re talking about. This year’s event will be a combination of online and in person meetings. \nDay 1 – 16th Sept from 1pm – 3:30pm will be an online Webinar with speakers providing an update on progress on improving connectivity in rural NZ. \nDay 2 – 17th Sept from 1pm – 5pm will be online and is all about our aspirations – where we are headed and what do we want? \n\n\n\n\nYou can download and read the final programme here.\n\n\n\nBy registering you will also be invited to take part in a one hour workshop\, a number will be held online or you can attend in person in Auckland\, Hamilton\, Wellington or Christchurch. We are also looking one other regional venue in the North Island. These workshops will take place over the three weeks after the online event. \nWe want to bring the full focus back to the sector that this is all about – rural Aotearoa New Zealand. And while we will still be asking some of the key players to update us on progress\, we really want to talk about the impact of what’s being done – addressing what will it deliver\, what are the benefits for rural business and communities\, and then helping decision makers understand what rural NZ really wants from them. Obviously there is all sorts of discussion to come out of the recent COVID-19 lock down period including but not limited to\, do we know what’s available\, what’s coming in the future\, and what would we want if we could have it. \nJoin us in 2020 at this iconic event where our overall theme will be building a clever countryside. Choose how you want to participate and take the opportunity to shape our near future in rural Aotearoa New Zealand. \nWe are again joined with our support partners RHAANZ\, Rural Women NZ\, Dairy Women’s Network\, Young Farmers NZ and Federated Farmers NZ. \n \nOur partners for the 2020 Symposium include: \n  \n\n\n\nPremier Partner:\n \n \n\n\nConference Partners:\n  \n\n\n\nOther Partners:
