SUMMARY:FLINT Waikato - Preparing for success in the Digital Age
DESCRIPTION:The workplace today is evolving at an ever increasing pace. With all the changes that new technology has already brought\, it doesn’t matter where you are in your career\, how you work today will not be the same as the workplace of tomorrow. We already know that the skills that you learnt or in the process of learning will not be the ones you will need to be successful in 10 or even 5 years from now. \nSo how will you prepare for the workplace of the future? At this event. We’re going to share with you the skills that we see being important to develop in preparing for the future. Organisations such as the World Economic Forum have done the work for us\, and so we’ll use their work to help you in your career journey at this point. \nWe’ll be making the evening interactive so come ready to use your personal tech to help you understand your readiness. \nAnd because the skills we’ll need apply to all of use\, no matter where we are in our journey\, this event will be of use to everyone – from students right through to those of us looking at our last ten years in the workplace. \nWe’ve got some really interesting and exciting speakers on the evening: \nNatasha Harvey – Natasha wears many hats as a director and leader in many sectors in the Waikato and is particularly interested in this topic given her background in Accounting where AI is slated to take over many traditional roles\, and many are not prepared for the future of work and what it means for the profession. We know you’ll find this evening interesting\, inciteful and maybe even a little scary. We look forward to seeing you there. \nAshleigh Vogstad – Ashleigh thrives on bringing people together to scale vision and impact – through partnerships\, shared values and technology. She founded Transcends on a passion for people and to modernize sales and marketing functions in an age of digital transformation. A channel partner marketing agency\, Transcends helps tech companies and Fortune 500 clients get the most from their partnerships with vendors like Microsoft and Sitecore. Ashleigh believes strongly in the philanthropic spirit and has had the privilege of leading marketing for His Holiness\, The Dalai Lama\, has sat on several charitable boards\, and founded one of Canada’s only nonprofit restaurants\, Zend Lounge. \nPlease note: The event opens at 5.00pm with the formal parts of the evening getting underway at 5.30pm.
