DESCRIPTION:The next generation of mobile networks is much closer than you think. Spark is currently drive-testing a 5G trial network in Wellington CBD as the first part of their commitment to rolling out this new technology. Early testing with Hon Minister Clare Curran has delivered speeds of over 9 Gigabits per second. That’s more than nine times faster than the maximum speeds available to consumers with residential fixed line fibre today\, and up to 100 times faster than 4G. \nThis live outdoor network trial in Wellington will continue until the end of March when the equipment will be re-deployed in Spark’s Auckland HQ for a 5G customer showcase. In this After5\, TUANZ members are invited to see this interactive showcase in Auckland which will include a number of use cases and new innovation that runs on 5G. In Wellington and Christchurch\, Spark will share the results from their field trials and outline their plans for their next major step in mobile connectivity.  \nPlease note: The interactive customer showcase will only be part of the Auckland After5. \nThis event opens for registration at 5.00pm with the formal parts of the evening getting underway at 5.30pm.
