2023 Annual Report

Covering the year from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023

We’re proud to release the 2023 Annual Report.

On behalf of the board of TUANZ it gives us great pleasure to release and make available the report covering the year up to 31 March 2023.

We celebrated the one year anniversary of the valuable initiative Digital Boost which TUANZ supports through the Digital Boost Alliance. The Digital Boost Alliance is a joint public-private initiative that supports the uptake of digital tools for small businesses, communities, and individuals. Working together our members are helping drive digital acceleration in Aotearoa.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our events programme returned with our flagship conferences Tech Users Day and the Rural Connectivity Symposium being held in person this year. Throughout New Zealand the Future Leaders in Technology (FLINT) teams hosted events to connect and empower those who aspire to be the leaders of New Zealand’s digital future.

Tech Users Day took place on 15 September in Auckland and was a day of inspiring speakers, networking, table and panel discussions, challenging our vision of New Zealand being in the top 10 digital ready nations by 2030.

We also published insights from the Rural Connectivity Symposium, held 14-15 June in Hamilton, highlighting current efforts, challenges, future solutions and what’s next in a communique.

Throughout the year TUANZ continued its active engagement with government and industry to help shape the regulatory and policy environment to ensure all users of technology are getting the best service, at the most competitive price, regardless of who you are or where you live. This is a vital component of our annual work program and we thank everyone who has contributed to these
important discussions.

Looking ahead, TUANZ will continue to advocate on behalf of our members and all New Zealand technology users. We have an active program of work looking at how current and emerging technology trends such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, satellite, and the cloud will impact users and our members. This is an incredibly exciting period to be in the technology industry with TUANZ
playing an important role on behalf of all our members and users of technology in New Zealand.

I would like to extend the Board’s thanks to all of our members for their continued support, and to ecognise our many strategic partners and friends who support the work we do.
