TUANZ Media Release: Closing the urban and rural digital divide
Kia Ora,
Welcome to the 2022 Rural Connectivity Symposium including the WISPA Conference
We’re heading to Hamilton to meet in person becuase Rural Connectivity is to important to give up on!
The last two years have shown the real value in high quality connectivity as we dealt with a global pandemic. But while urban NZ has been able to deal with the changes without missing a beat, in Rural NZ users have had a mixed experience.
We have not been able to meet together to share stories, both positive an negative, of the state of rural connectivity and so 2022 will give us the chance again to sit down, reset the dialogue around the next steps for connectivity and imagine what could be if we saw continued real improvements to rural services.
In 2022 we’re partnering with WISPA to offer a two day event around the theme of “Imagine if…”
Day One will start with a WISPA member only morning which will include their AGM, and then everyone is welcome to join from lunchtime onwards. The afternoon session on day one will be a time to set the scene, including updating everyone on progress in improving rural connectivity since the last time we were able to meet.
Day Two will then focus on the future around four specific ‘communities’ – on the farm, on the Marae, in the classroom, and on the move.
Join us on Tuesday 14th June and Wednesday 15th June 2022
Tickets are available for either day seperately, or for both days.
At the Rural Symposium 2022 we looked at four communities needs for high quality connectivity – on the farm, on the marae, in the classroom and on the move. In our Communique we updated our five calls to action for decision makers.
