As you move through your career and develop as leaders, you will soon realise that getting things done relies more on influencing people than you ever thought. As any successful leader will tell you, learning this skill and having it in your toolbox will set you up for success.
We’ve asked two Christchurch leaders to share their thoughts on how they learnt to be influential in their leadership careers. Malcolm Johns has been the CEO at Christchurch International Airport since 2014 and has a significant background in leadership in the tourism industry, Leeann Watson recently took on the role of the CEO at the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce after working as the GM there for the last 17 years. They’ll share some personal thoughts on the topic and answer questions – as well as sharing some practical tips for you to start working on, no matter where you currently are in your career. There will be a chance for you to ask your questions after the presentations in a panel discussion.
We can promise you not only an interesting evening on the topic, but also a chance to meet with others who are in similar stages of their career as you – a chance to build your local network.
Please note: Registrations will open at 5.00pm with the formal parts of the evening getting underway at 5.20pm.
