FLINT.NZ Webinar : Smart Tech is coming…whether you like it or not.

14/05/2020 @ 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

We may be sitting isolated at home, but that isn’t stopping the development of really clever use of smart tech in unusual places. What better time to get a glimpse of the future than now as we look to come out of our imposed isolation and remember we are at the start of a new decade. The 2020’s will be a time of rapid change in the tech industry as many early technologies of the last 10 years mature and make it’s way into mass deployment.

We’ve asked Eduard Liebenberger, who in his role as the Director of Technology at Jade here in Christchurch, to take a wide brief and talk us through a number of areas of advancement such as AI and Machine learning, IoT and 5G. We will then see how these technologies will be enabling not just driverless cars and Go competitions, but stocking your fridge, serving you drinks and much more. And what use are these being put to as we go through this incredibly disruptive pandemic! Join us on the 14th May for an inspiring evening webinar of what the future holds and how we can all get involved to get it here faster. This event is brought to you by the Flint lead team in Christchurch but is open to anyone to join.

Eduard has been a bit all over the show over the past 15 years, leaving Austria to live in Wellington, then moving back across the world to Frankfurt, hanging out in the Mediterranean for a while on the Rock of Gibraltar before coming back home to Christchurch. One thing however has never changed: exploring and finding real-world applications for emerging technologies.

Since returning to New Zealand Eduard has joined Jade Software as their CTO and the AI Forum NZ as a member of the Executive Council. He’s been active in the public, using everything in his toolbox to make AI and other emerging technologies more approachable and interesting to the wider public.
